Scrappage Scheme bites in the UK

The much derided scrappage scheme in the UK has started to see benefits in new car registrations for June 09. Overall new car sales fell by 15.7% in June, however private individual registrations actually increased by approx 4% giving a much needed boost to several carmakers such as Ford, Kia, and Hyundai that have all experienced a growth in new car sales through June. “We are now beginning to see the positive impact of the scrappage scheme translate into new vehicle registrations,” sai
